Yasaka Lakeside

Japan, Iwase, Kanayama-cho, Gero City, Gifu Prefecture 509-1603

A quiet lakeside downstream of Iwaya Dam, known as the water reservoir of the Tokai region. In spring, approximately 400 meters of cherry blossom trees bloom in full glory. These are Somei Yoshino trees, about 35 years old, making it one of Gero City’s most beloved cherry blossom spots. During the peak bloom in early April, the Yasaka side of the lake is beautifully illuminated at dusk, where visitors can enjoy hanami (flower viewing) while relaxing and browsing food stalls.
