Kintora Sake Brewery

Kintora Sake Brewery is one of the few sake breweries in Nagoya City that offers brewery tours. Founded in 1845 (Koka 2), it is a long-established brewery and one of only five sake breweries in Nagoya City. Inheriting the name "Kintora," which has ties to Nagoya Castle, it has continued to brew sake that is loved by the community for over 180 years. At the brewery, while cherishing the traditional techniques that have supported sake brewing in Aichi Prefecture, they brew sake that also suits modern food culture. The clean taste and flavor that brings out the original umami of the rice make it an excellent match not only for Japanese food but also for a variety of other dishes! In addition to traditional sake, they also propose new forms of sake, such as plum wine colored with roselle and with a refreshing sweetness, and sour sake made using koji mold used in shochu. From June to September each year, brewery tours are available by reservation. You can learn about the process of making sake and their commitment to sake brewing while touring the brewing cellars and brewing equipment.
