Shirakawago Observatory

Located on the Gifu side of the Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road, the Shirakawa-go Observatory sits at an elevation of 1,230 meters and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains surrounding the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go. On clear days, you can even see the Tateyama Mountain Range. In autumn, sea of clouds often forms, and from late September to late October, the gate opens an hour earlier for the “Autumn Morning Time.” The observatory deck is barrier-free, featuring ramps and multi-purpose restrooms, making it accessible and comfortable for wheelchair users and families.
